Hood release for 66-77 Ford Bronco

We know how much Broncos are going for these days, so security is more important than ever. If you want to secure your engine and prevent theft, our new internal hood release is an outstanding upgrade for your Bronco!

This brand new polished billet aluminum design incorporates the cable mounting and safety built-in. We designed this piece to have all of the mounting, cable mount and spring completely contained within the one piece. We use an ultra-strong stainless steel bolt (rated at 65,000 psi) to make sure that even if the pivot pin were to come loose, it could not come out or release the hood. We also designed the mechanism so the spring is not visible from the front of the Bronco. This kit will free up lots of space between the grill and core support so nothing hangs down. When adding a winch it will block easy access to the stock hood lever. When using our kit, that lever is completely gone.

Putting the hood release knob in the dash with a factory looking knob and bezel makes it look like the Bronco came from the factory like that.

The cable is mounted in the dash using stock-look parts if you removed a stock switch or choke cable, you can reuse that hole or drill a new one.

Kits come with the mechanism, Black cable, bezel, Black aluminum knob with removable insert, and stainless steel hardware. Only the knobs are different for the different years.

On the Lokar version we Drill and tap the cable hole to accept Lokar cable, the hood release mechanism is the same. The cable handle will have to be bolted to the bottom of the dash or the kick panel. The Lokar cable is a different design and may require trimming depending on how you route it and mount the handle see their instructions for more info.

The cable can be upgraded later to use the Lokar cable (Part# 62-30035) On any of our Aluminum mechanisms but you will have to drill the cable mounting hole to 5/16 and tap it to 5/16-24 thread. If you order your kit with Lokar cable we do the drilling and tapping before it is shipped. 

We changed the cable to black as of 12/24 to make it kind of disappear and we now offer the hood release mechanism in black so none if the kit is really noticeable at first glance.
