Description

Made of 409 Stainless steel and Ceramic coated silver then polished for a great look and heat protection.

We built these headers especially for the 66-77 Bronco with most engine, transmission and transfer case combinations in mind. We used 1-5/8” 14 gauge tubing, 3/8” flanges, a 2-½” collector, ceramic coated them inside and out, and designed them to clear the stock starter, clutch linkage, motor mount, bell housing, transmission dipstick, frame and floorboard, making these headers the right headers for your Bronco.

When we installed a set of our headers on our tech’s personal Bronco at the dyno shop, we gained 24.9 HP at the rear wheels and additional 12.3 HP by adding our two into one exhaust. See the photo gallery for test results.

These Headers are available in the traditional 3-bolt flange with welded Dome (no collector gasket required). We do not put O2 bungs into our headers because you can not get a true exhaust mix being that close to the collector. We recommend installing the sensor (EFI) within 4″ of the collector on the exhaust side. The headers come with standard gaskets and bolts. We prefer to upgrade to the reusable aluminum gaskets and stainless steel wedge lock bolts. These bolts have a flange head, but a smaller hex, so you can use a socket to tighten them. The bolts also feature serrated washers to keep them tight without damaging the coating. The washers are also attached to the bolt so there is nothing to lose or add.

The last 3 pictures are of our headers fitting on GT40P heads. #3 and #7 plugs are closest to the pipes but will clear. We recommend using the 90* plug wires for best fitment, running the wires under the headers may work better and make the engine look cleaner as well.

We recommend removing the brake line bracket if you still have one for a better fit and cleaner look, these have been removed for over 25 years that we know of so there is a good chance it is long gone already.

*Header dyno results

The First run is the base run 351W GT 40 EFI, cast manifolds, dual exhaust with cherry bombs.

The Green line showing a Base run with HP of 164.2 and 244.9 ft lbs of torque

Second run with Our 1-5/8″ headers and same dual exhaust with cherry bombs

The Red line showing HP of 189.1 and 268.3 ft lbs of torque

The headers alone added 24.9 HP and 23.4 ft lbs of torque

Third run with Our 1-5/8″ headers and Maginaflow 2 into 1 exhaust dual 2.5 in 3″ out

The Blue line showing HP of 201.4 and 283.4 ft lbs of torque

The the exhaust added 12.3 HP and 15.1 ft lbs of torque

We put these headers and exhaust through the dyno testing because we wanted to make sure we were not loosing any power to our surprise we ended up making quite a lot of bolt on power, For a total gain of 37.2 HP and 38.5ft lbs of torque.
